Thank You Lord

This is written by an anonymous writer, and I love this prayer so much!  This piece reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for.  Awesome work!! I thought this would be worth-sharing...

Thank You Lord
by Anonymous

Lord, thank you for this sink of dirty dishes;
      we have plenty of food to eat.
Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry;
      we have plenty of nice clothes to wear.
And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds;
      they were so warm and comfortable last night.
      I know that many have no bed.

My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom,
      complete with all the splattered mirrors,
      soggy, grimy towels and dirty lavatory;
      they are so convenient.

Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator
      that needs cleaning.
     It has served us faithfully for many years.
     It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers
      for two or three meals.

I Pray for You…

Almighty God, I thank You for Your mercy and love;
Thank You for teaching us, Your people what true love is.
Through Your death on the cross, You have redeemed us your children;
Help us to love Your cross and accept the crosses that You would like us to carry.

Immunization and All

Last week, I brought lil Garrie to her Pedia for her scheduled Rotarix vaccine.  Her Pedia is like the most in-demand Pedia in town!  A long queue of patients is almost always expected in every visit, and I’m sure those parents who patiently waited for their turn wouldn’t mind as the lady pedia has a sunny disposition and apparently, children are not afraid to go near her.  My Garrie loves her clinic – her eyes usually roll with excitement with the clinic’s colorful walls, and I often hear her cooing and giggling…music to mum’s ears, indeed!

Anyway, going back to the vaccine thingy… Garrie had her Rotarix vaccine, a brand of rotavirus oral vaccine given in a series of 2 doses, and each dose costs Php 2,800 ($66).   According to emedicinehealth.com, “Rotavirus oral vaccine contains up to five strains of rotavirus. Infection with rotavirus can affect the digestive system of babies and young children, causing severe stomach or intestinal illness.  The rotavirus oral vaccine is used to help prevent this disease in children” [Click here to read more about Rotavirus].

Little-ly blonde

I always look forward to weekends, particularly Saturday afternoon when I can have quality time with Garrie, my sis Haidee and my two nephews, Maxi and Audrie who adore their baby cousin so much. Our quick weekend getaway is Parkmall, a new mall just 5-minute ride away from our place.

Three Saturdays ago, we looked for Garrie’s swimsuit for a supposedly family pool affair but unfortunately, it didn’t push through at the last minute.  Anyway, we bought her a one-piece swimsuit with cover up.  I will post a picture of her sexy suit in my next blog.  As we hopped in from one store to another, Audrie took off the mannequin’s blonde wig (false hair) and playfully put on Garrie’s head.  We laughed out loud at the sight of a blondy baby loving her new look!

This is just one of those special moments we share on our typical lazy-Saturday-afternoon.  TGIS!! c",)

Daddy’s gifts

Because of little Garrie’s recent fever, Daddy could not help himself but treat her little girl and guess what --- shopping!!! Yes, SHOPPING…oh, how I envied my little Garrie!  I even asked hubby if I would also get sick (God forbid) will I get the chance to splurge myself courtesy of him? Of course he replied with a BIG NO! :P

i am strong mom...relax =)
Daddy bought his little gurl not one but two pairs of super cute shoes.  I so love the red boots! At her young age, she now has 7 pairs of shoes – 2 crib shoes, a pair of slippers and 4 baby shoes.  My little Garrie being imeldific? Hmm, why not?! *wink* *wink*

Superman Daddy

Last Thursday night, my Garrie had high fever that had gone up to 39.8 °C.  For the first time in my life, I felt soooo helpless!  I am the type of person who is always in control in whatever situation I’m in but that particular night made me realized I am not a ‘superwoman’ when it comes to my baby.  The mere thought that she is not feeling well really breaks my heart.
daddy's little angel :)
Surprisingly, Daddy was my exact opposite that scary moment.  He maintained his composure in spite of seeing me crying (yes that’s me… a drama queen huhuhu) while nervously cuddling little Garrie.  To bring the fever down, hubby gave little Garrie a dose of Tempra (paracetamol for infants).  I am just so thankful that we always have Tempra on hand, it really saved our day!  Dad also gave her baby gurl a cold compress – he took off Garrie’s pj, submerged a small towel into a basin of water, squeezed it dry and placed the towel on little Garrie’s forehead then to her abdomen.  Baby’s temp eventually went down in just less than an hour… thanks to her superman dada!!  Sooo proud of my dear hubby *wink*
